Motorcycle-Winter-Riding-Gear

Motorcycle-Winter-Riding-Gear is most important in cold weather motorcycle riding. Having Fun Even in the Colder Months is Easier than Many Think

Motorcycle riding is an extremely popular pastime in those states where there is sunshine year round, especially down south. At the same time, the northern states are those that experience a full four seasons, and those are some of the most scenic states of them all. Unfortunately, the cold weather often restricts riders from riding out in the winter, making their beautiful bikes almost completely useless during the winter months. Fortunately, for those who are brave enough to take the cold there is such a thing as winter motorcycle riding. You don't have to give up your favorite pastime just because the temperature has dropped a few degrees. With the right equipment, it is not too difficult to make winter motorcycle riding work okay for you.

Motorcycle-Winter-Riding-Gear: It's About Blocking the Wind

A great Motorcycle exsesory for blocking the wind would be a winshild or fearing and the most basic strategy of all for those who would like to ride their bikes in the winter time is layering up. Layering up is so important, as that is your body's way of retaining heat that the biting wind is definitely going to try and steal from you. Hypothermia is real, and the temperature difference in the wind on your bike is significantly different from what is actual. Your Motorcycle Biker Jacket is not going to be enough here; layer up as much as you can underneath it with thermal clothing to be comfortable. The key is to find the right type of layering that which keeps you warm enough but still allows you to move on your bike as movement is another way to warm up. I have purchased a larger leather for the cold weather riding so I can layer up and have mobility also. If your arms don't hang comfortably at your sides you don't have any mobility.

Motorcycle-Winter-Riding-Gear: Gloves and Boots

If you have spent any time in the cold you know how devastating cold can be to the hands. During the winter time, a good pair of motorcycle gloves is more important than ever. You can purchase extra insulated winter gloves for bike riding online and in many stores, and the same goes with boots. The thing about your extremities getting so cold on the bike is that your body is working furiously to make sure that your heart and vital organs stay warm. Of course, this leads your circulation to sometimes be neglectful of your poor hands and feet, but with a good pair of boots and an even better pair of gloves you can block the wind and insulate your own heat and make it work for you.

The wind is not your friend when it comes to winter motorcycle riding. The wind is what can really mess up your internal temperature and steal away the heat that your body has created to keep itself warm. Only a good motorcycle jacket can block the wind efficiently and protect you at the same time, Take your time and invest in a really good bike jacket for those cold weather rides. I sugest a larger size for layering. Your body will thank you later.

Motorcycle-Winter-Riding-Gear: Head and Neck

I use a leather scarf, the wind does not penetrate the leather. I was out one warm day riding with others, having more fun then ever, not considering the temperature change when the sun went down. I learned my lesson in a hurry. We stopped to Gear up and all I could find in my saddle bag was a dirty Leather Chamois, you know the one we dust are bikes off with. I tied it around my neck and was as warm as a June bug. To this day I keep Two Leather Chamois in my bag one for dusting and one for warmth. Also I like to use ear muffs instead of a Benni so my hair is blowing in the wind, If not, with all the Motorcycle-Winter-Riding-Gear on I blend in and look Like One of the guys.

Motorcycle-Winter-Riding-Gear: Leg warmth

I can't stress enough Leather is the best way to keep the wind from stealing your heat. The leather Motorcycle Chaps and Leather Jeans will keep the heat in and the cold winter wind out.

Layering up Clothing

Always remember Layers, Under the leather you must insulate yourself. The leather gets cold and can have an adverse affect. When the leather gets cold it stays cold and if its the only thing you have on it works against you.

Winter motorcycle riding can be fun, but only if you go about it the right way. Layer up and get the right equipment and know when cold is just too cold to get on that bike. I myself will not ride if the temp is under 50 degrees, I still ride but I climb on the back of my Husbands Motorcycle, His windshield and himself block the wind and I can just sit back and enjoy the ride.
